Treasures Found

Is there any better feeling that finding something that you weren’t even aware that you’d lost or forgotten about?

A while back I finally decided to clean out the old purses that were collecting in my closet. I meticulously went through each one (I think there were about 8 of them) and dumped all of the contents on my living room floor. I sorted through the junk, piled the trash in one pile, old pay stubs in another and a collection of various items in the third. Then I went back through the various items and sorted through those.

I found over a hundred dollars in cash, some forgotten gift cards for stores that I frequent on a regular basis, and other small treasures that I’d long forgotten about. It was a good day, all in all.

Yesterday, I decided to finally convert my old floppy disks to my thumb drive. Hottie had gotten a portable floppy drive for just this purpose and I put it to use. I put in one floppy disk after another, some more than ten years old, and found old short stories I’d written in french, one completed manuscript at 400 pages long, and two other manuscripts that I had started and not finished at around another 130 pages each.

Another good day.

Wow! How about lunch on you? Wish I could find some spare cash hidden away. Unfortunately, I usually use one purse until it falls apart then drag my heels about finding a new one. I’d rather go to the dentist than shop for a new purse. But, I have had luck with finding treasures in coat pockets…
