My house looks like a hoarders home. Piles of clothes on hangers litter the floor, causing a maze that we have to walk through in order to get to the next room.

Why the huge mess?

Hottie is redoing our closet.

We had the ugly wire shelving like in so many of the newer homes. The cheap ugly shelving is more cost effective for the builders to install. We hated it. It didn’t utilize the space very well and there was too much wasted space that could be filled with my shoes.

So, Hottie, handy man that he is, planned and planned and planned how he wanted to closet to look. I stay out of the design process and keep my opinions to myself. The design process is his creative outlet and I would no sooner tell him how to do that than he would to tell me how to write. Especially when I always love the results of his creative work.

The piles of clothes will be worth it in the end. This is what I tell myself as I step over the mounds to find my way to the bathroom every morning, when I catch my toe on a hanger, or when I struggle to find my favorite pair of jeans.

One day soon I will have a beautiful closet. And, my dear friends, I’ll share it here with all of you.

So, you can properly lust after it, turn green with envy, and grow horns out of your heads.
